I read at the ffevo site that it no longer supports private servers.

Anyone have any work arounds for this?

You misunderstood what you read. They don't support outdated client versions, which were required for a brief while to work on private servers. kjLotus already got the server working with the latest client versions, so make sure both are up-to-date and there won't be any problems.

Thanks,

I did the "Check Files" for the FFXI and I did all the updates for the Ashita program and it did work a lot better. now I'm at the point where it logs in and then starts to load and pol.exe crashes so it's getting closer.

Disable Ashita plugins until it works. One of them is probably causing the crash. When you figure out which one, file a bug report in the appropriate place.

As bluekirby mentioned, we supposed DSP but our main focus is retail. Meaning that when updates happen on retail, we focus to ensure that Ashita is updated to work with it. DSP does not always update immediately as it takes time to restructure the changes into the code and all, which sometimes causes Ashita to no longer work for DSP or cause random crashes.

If this does happen, you can use an SVN client to pull older versions of Ashita from our release svn.
The url for the svn is: http://svn.ffevo.net/ashita/release/

As for your current crashes, as bk said unload every plugin and login again. If you login fine then, start loading plugins 1 by 1 til you crash. When you figure out what plugin it is let me know and I'll see whats up. As far as I know though, all stock plugins are working fine on retail currently.

Shouldn't be any changes that would cause that...are you sure it didn't happen in older versions?

Sorry, I should have said that I don't think that was a change. It believe it happened with older versions, too. I've gotten 100% a couple other times since then, not using /search. I haven't found anything in particular in common, yet. Each time I've been running through a zone, not in the middle of a fight or zoning.

edit: removed wild conjectures
