Chains of Tartarus

The days of dune parties, wiping on the first dangerous trip to Jueno, and spending all day putting together a party for an Optical Hat run is over but maybe sometimes you miss those things. In the spirit of earlier FFXI days, mainly from the original release to before ToAU, Chains of Tartarus was made. It's missing everything from ToAU on, including the jobs, FOV, explorer moogles, areas, etc.

Things weren't just taken out. Crafting skills up are increased, harvesting materials is easier, shops are slightly cheaper, and mob drops were slightly increased. Since there wont be the player base of the commercial FFXI I wanted everyone to feel like they could help create the world without making it too easy. This isn't an easy mode server. Oh, and move speed was slightly increased for players as well as mobs.

I hope everyone has fun. We need people since no one will be leveling past level 12 or so without a classic dunes party.

Just to be clear, the server will never have content past COP.

Server is going to be down for a couple hours because I need to recompile it to get rid of some non FFXI-COP stuff...

10.0.0.111 would be an internal IP address for your local network. You'll want to go to www.whatismyip.com to get the external address and make sure ports are forwarding properly... Most Netgear, Apple, and Comcast routers use 10.0.0.xxx IP addresses for local networks.

Thank you for the heads up. The server's going to be down for a bit while I remove things, like field manuals, abilties, and other nonsense added since COP and people lost their minds. And I'm going to be busy with other things for the next four days so the COP only crowd that's banging at my door 24/7 for this server is going to have wait. That includes you tagban.

Why CoP only if you don't mind me asking? That's very limiting if anything.

Because it's the last expansion that was implemented before WoW started to influence FFXI.
You know, only taking one vicodin a day is limiting too. But at least you don't damage your liver.

Chains of Tartarus is up. I think you'll find that it's pretty close to resembling the COP era FFXI. But since there will be less people the economy might be a problem. So I slightly increased mob drop rates, decreased prices, and improved crafting skill up rates. My name on the server is Grahf.
