DSSearch Server doesnt seam to work.

I cant find any stuff on my AH, and iam sure there is some there.
Has anybody have some suggestions were to look.

Are you getting an error message? Do you have all the ports open on your firewall that you need to? The search server is pretty straight forward, just edit it's config file and there ya go...

We need some more specific symptoms to work from. For example, if the game is saying "Search Failed" that would be an important factor. Anything odd that shows up in the search server window is also helpful.

When i enter the AH it says "Search Failed.".
I check all firewall settings, they seam to be OK.
I realy enjoy the FFXI ^^
I played it for 4 years and still miss it.
Thank you for helping me, i hope to find a solution to this problem.

Ok, check that the settings in conf/search_server.conf are correct.

Also make sure if you are running this on an external IP address that ALL of the ports listed in the troubleshooting guide are forwarded on your router.

From the screenshot you posted the search server is running fine, you're just not able to get to it. It's a firewall / port forwarding problem.

I had the same issue. The "Building the Server" guide only lists 3 of the ports you need to forward. The "Troubleshooting Guide" bluekirby linked lists 2 other ports that solved the "Search Failed." for me.

These are the ports:
TCP: 54230 54231 54001 54002 UDP 54230

Problem is solved, but it was a forwarding problem, not a firewall.
I was just using my own local network to play, but when i used my outside IP adress it worked.
