Dragon Quest III. On the Famicom. Its been remade multiple times, and yet I still load up the original after all these years and use the class change to min-max the hell out of my former fighter/wizard/cleric combo henchman to see how close I can squeeze his stats to the cap at lv 99 after many hours of hunting the Liquid metal Slimes.

Well, until you hit FF13...I don't like the way SE is moving with the new ones now.

While some might suspect a typical response like Final Fantasy, the release however might surprise you... Final Fantasy VIII. I choose this mainly because aside from playing the originals on NES these were my main introduction into the series. Second best RPG would have to be Divinity: Original Sin... this game was just godlike. If you take me out of that genre I would have to say GRID/DIRT games, Path of Exile/Diablo II, and the original Counterstrike (im talking 1.6 and below).
